#MeYouSuperbugs Photo Competition – Me You & The Superbugs 2019. Ibadan & Lagos

Antibiotic resistance affects us all, regardless of where we live, and the problem is growing daily.

Antibiotics are a significant part of our healthcare system. Antibiotics are used to reduce risk of treat bacterial infections. However, due to different reasons including misuse, antibiotic-resistant infections are on the rise, with over 700 000 deaths occurring annually and a further 10 million more by year 2050 which is over half of the current population of Lagos, State Nigeria as at 2019 *

Increasing knowledge of antibiotic resistance in our nation is important, so that everyone knows ways in which we can all help to reduce the spread of these resistant infections and ensure that the antibiotics we have continue to be effective when we need them.
