Orode Aniejurengho is the founder of the Me You and The Superbugs public engagement project on antibiotic resistance in Nigeria. She enjoys engaging the public with science in easy to understand ways.
Research Scientist with interests in drug discovery and antimicrobial resistance, Orode's experience cuts across Chemistry and Microbiology with expertise in public engagement. An Associate Tutor in the Department of Health at University of Essex Online and now visiting scientist at University of Oxford UK, having completed her postdoctoral project at the University of Oxford, UK. Where she received a commendable Antibiotic Guardian award for the Me You and The Superbugs project. She is an award winning scientist and a UK STEM Ambassador. She continually inspires the younger generation to take up careers in science. Dr Orode is enthusiastic about partnering with those interested in organising a Me You and The Superbugs event in their State to continually raise awareness about antibiotic resistance in her home country Nigeria. She founded Me You and The Superbugs in 2018 with a grant from the Royal Society of Biology during Biology Week. Me You and the Superbugs has been supported by the University of Oxford, Inqaba Biotec Ibadan, Victory Drugs Pharmacy, Lagos.
